OKAVANGO DELTA

The Okavango Delta [16,000 sq. kms] reputed to be the largest inland delta in the world.

It offers great scenic beauty and sustains phenomenal numbers of wildlife, crocodile, hippo, water bucks and various fish species are among the many wild animals that could be viewed from safari vans and boats.

With forests of palms, grasslands, islands, flood plains and lagoons to be seen, tourists seeking the pleasure of adventure are sure to have one of the best experiences of their life.

The delta waters actually spill into the Kalahari sands.

The meeting of dry land and wet land gives that breath-taking contrast, porpularly referred to as the 'Jewel of the Kalahari'.

The delta has a number of first class lodges and camp sites where visitors touring the area could be accommodated. Bookings could be done in Maun.

MOREMI GAME RESERVE

The Moremi Game Reserve [4,871sq.km] covers approximately 20 per cent of the Okavango Delta. The Moremi is situated in the northeast of Maun.

The Reserve has a wide variety of wildlife, elephants are plenty, buffalo, giraffe, lion, leopard, cheetah, wild dog, hyena, jackal and a full range of antelope and red lechwe can be seen. Bird life is prolific including water birds.

Moremi has four major camping sites, which are fairly developed with basic facilities like ablution blocks, picnic tables and standpipes.

It is advisable to use only 4X4 vehicles while driving in the reserve since the roads are rough and sandy.
